A shelter is only as good as the certification behind it.

Wind region governs the structural design of anything you stand up on a site. Our standard dome shelters have been rebuilt to carry Wind Region C and D certification, the cyclonic and severe-cyclonic classifications that cover most of WA's north. Tell us where it's going and we'll confirm what your site actually requires.

Our standard certification

Certification to a region is the baseline. Where a site sits in exposed terrain, on unusual ground, or carries loads the standard design doesn't anticipate, we can arrange site-specific engineering, including weight ballast calculations, so the installation is signed off for the ground it's actually standing on. Site-specific engineering is an optional add-on, quoted separately from the standard package.

The standard range has been revised end to end: heavier truss sections, upgraded connections and an industrial-grade dome tarp rated for sustained UV.

Dome shelters

Covered workspace, spanned between two rows of containers.

A steel truss frame carrying a tensioned dome tarp bridges the gap between two container walls, turning steel you already have on site into a sealed workshop, laydown area or storage bay. No shed slab, no long build programme, and it can be taken down and moved when the work moves.

Modification, not selection

If the standard unit isn't right, we change the unit.

On a recent exploration job the client needed more headroom than the standard shell gave them and a different wet-area split. We upgraded the container from general purpose to high cube and reconfigured the ablution block from four toilets to three toilets and a shower. Both changes were priced into the original quote rather than raised as a variation after delivery.

Covered yard space, Black Duck®

Black Duck®, the seat cover manufacturer, needed covered working and storage space at their Forrestdale facility. We supplied both the containers and the dome, set the containers to the span required, and installed the shelter over them. Completed in the same fortnight as the Cue job.

Why a dome

A metropolitan yard with a hardstand already in place. The dome turned unused hardstand into covered, usable floor area without a shed build, and the containers carrying it double as secure storage on both sides of the span.

Common questions

Before you call.

Do I need a concrete slab?
No. Container dome shelters are designed to sit on the containers themselves, so a prepared, level hardstand is usually all that's required. We don't pour slabs or footings. We do supply precast concrete footings, which lift the containers clear of the ground and sit them level.
Can the shelter be moved later?
Yes, and that's much of the point. The dome dismantles, travels with the containers, and re-installs at the next site. Relocation is quoted as its own scope, and the certification is reviewed against the new site's wind region before it goes back up.
What certification do we receive?
As standard, structural certification to AS/NZS 1170.2 for the wind region your site sits in, handed over as documentation at completion. Site-specific engineering is an optional add-on; if you take it, you also receive the site-specific design and the ballast calculations behind it.
Do you supply the containers, or can we use ours?
Either. Most turnkey packages include the containers so the whole scope sits with us, but we're equally happy to design the dome around units already on your site. We'll need the type, condition and dimensions to check they suit.
How far out do you deliver?
Across Western Australia, including remote mining and exploration sites. Interstate delivery is available on request. Tell us the location and we'll price the transport leg with the rest of the job.
What size domes do you offer?
Widths of 6m, 8m, 10m, 12m, 14m and 16m, with custom sizes built to order. The width is the clear span between the two container rows, and each width comes in a version to suit either 20ft or 40ft containers, so the length of the covered area follows the containers you are spanning.
What's the lead time?
Typically 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the dome, the container fit-out and whether the site needs site-specific engineering. We confirm the lead time in writing with the quote rather than giving a range that moves later.
